This website is operated by Deepsea Enterprizes Limited trading as iKandi (iKandi Mount Maunganui). iKandi Rotorua is operated by Event Gurus Limited. Both companies handle your information as described here.
1.What we collect
When you book or make an enquiry
- Your name, phone number and email address
- Event details: date, time, venue or address, group size, the occasion and any special requests
- Payment details: the amount, date and reference of your deposit. If you pay by card online, your card details go directly to our payment provider. We never see or store your full card number.
When you apply to work with us
- Your contact details, the roles you're interested in, your experience and availability, and the photos you choose to send
When you visit our website
- Standard technical information such as your browser, device, pages viewed and general location, collected through cookies and similar tools (see section 4)
At our venues
- We check photo ID to confirm guests are 18 or over, as our licence requires. Our venues may use CCTV for the safety of guests and staff and for licensing and security purposes.
2.How we use it
- To take, confirm and manage your booking, and to contact you about it
- To match your deposit and take payments
- To brief the entertainers and staff working at your event (only what they need)
- To consider job applications
- To keep our guests, entertainers and staff safe, and to meet our licensing, tax and legal obligations
- To understand how people use our website so we can improve it
We don't sell your personal information, and we won't contact you with marketing unless you've asked us to.
3.Who we share it with
- Our entertainers and staff: the details needed to deliver your booking
- Service providers who help us run the business: website hosting, email delivery, payment processing, our bank, and our accountants. Some of these providers may store information outside New Zealand. We only use providers that protect it to a standard comparable to New Zealand law.
- Police or other authorities, where the law requires it or to protect someone's safety
4.Cookies & analytics
Our website uses cookies and similar technologies, including Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics and Hotjar, to measure visits and understand how the site is used. We may also use advertising measurement tools (such as those from Google or Meta) to see how our ads perform. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The site will still work.
5.How long we keep it
- Booking and payment records: 7 years, as New Zealand tax law requires
- Enquiries that don't become bookings: up to 2 years
- Job applications: up to 12 months, unless you join our team
- CCTV footage: for a limited period, unless it's needed for an incident
6.Keeping it safe
We take reasonable steps to protect your information from loss, misuse and unauthorised access, including secure (HTTPS) connections and restricted access to booking details. If a privacy breach is likely to cause serious harm, we will tell you and the Privacy Commissioner.
7.Your rights
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete anything we don't need to keep by law. Contact us using the details below. We'll respond within 20 working days. If you're not happy with how we've handled your information, you can complain to theOffice of the Privacy Commissioner.
